Night Elf Dragon Information[]

Despite years of careful observation from dragon scientists across the globe, no one is really sure if Night Elf Dragons sleep. They're always up during the day, bouncing around and wiggling their ears, so it was assumed they sleep at night. But if Night Elf Dragons sleep at night, who is pulling all of these nocturnal pranks? Strange things happen to Caretakers when Night Elf Dragons are on their island. They might fall asleep in their hut, then wake up at the top of a tower. Other Caretakers wake up to find that their hut is completely filled with fruit, while the farms are picked clean. It took many years before these pranks were associated with Night Elf Dragons... and even now, no one is sure they are behind the pranks.

Some Caretakers have gone to great lengths to catch their Night Elf Dragons red-winged in the act of mischief making. They've organized nightwatch shifts, set up video cameras... they've even tried to keep their Night Elf Dragons caged at night! Nothing worked. Cages became unlocked, cameras would break, and nightwatchmen became inexplicably sleepy. Epic Night Elf Dragons are cute, friendly, and jovial dragons, but are still among the most feared by Caretakers. Why? Because Epic Night Elf Dragons are not only elaborate pranksters but can also encourage other dragons to take up their cause. During one such prank, an Epic Night Elf Dragon enlisted the help of other dragons to slowly push their flying Dragon Isle a few feet to the east every night. By the time the Caretaker noticed, he had no idea where he lived anymore.

Parents Behavior[]

The Night Elf Dragon has special behavior when it is used as a breeding parent. Unlike dragons with only basic types, it will obey the following rules:

  • Although the Black type is made up of Blue and Purple, the presence of these types may not necessarily allow you to breed the Night Elf Dragon. Check the Availability section above to find out the unique conditions under which this dragon might be bred.
  • When the Black type is alone in the pool, it will add pure dragons of its component types (Blue and Purple) to the list of possible outcomes, but it will not split into its component types. When Black is included in the pool along with one or more other types, the Black type can split into Blue and Purple. However, if it is split, then Black is no longer in the pool for the duration. Thus, the presence of Black in a pool will either add the Black type if it does not split or the Blue and Purple types if it does split. There is one exception to this rule, and that is when both parents possess the Black type. In this case, Black can contribute both itself and its split colors at the same time.
  • Although the Black type can split into Blue and Purple for breeding purposes, it still only counts as one type. This is important when considering the number of types for type-amount-dependent dragons such as the Diamond Dragon. Breeding a Night Elf Dragon with a Fruitful Dragon only counts as three types: Black, Green, and Yellow.

Notes[]

  • The Night Elf Dragon's design is based upon the Mist Dragon's, although there are differences between the two.
  • A night Elf or Trow is a prank-loving supernatural being who appears in scottish legends.
