Night Dragon Information[]

Baby Form Juvenile Form
Night Baby Night Juvenile
If you’ve ever ‘wished upon a shooting star,’ you were probably just saying hi to a passing Night Dragon. These wights of the night keep out of the light as they streak across the starry sky. The stellar-shaped pendants adorning their heads leave a bright streak in the sky as the Night Dragons fly by. Remember to keep your Night Dragon out of the Sun! Night Dragons prefer the cool caress of nighttime chills. During the daytime, they prefer to keep to shady areas.
Adult Form Epic Form
Night Adult Night Epic
Despite what you might expect, Night Dragons do not go quietly into the night. Passing by unfamiliar or frightening objects, they'll let out a startling shriek, scaring people in towns and villages nearby. Commonly, these startling screams are known as 'night terrors'. Make the effort to spend some time with your Epic Night Dragon during the day. Epic Night Dragons are very affectionate toward their Caretakers, but the moment twilight breaks, they'll disappear into the deep black of the sky, almost literally. Even the keenest dragon experts can't discern where the dragon ends and the night sky begins.

Parents Behavior[]

The Night Dragon has special behavior when it is used as a breeding parent. Unlike dragons with only basic types, it will obey the following rules:

  • When the Black type is alone in the pool, it will add pure dragons of its component types (Blue and Purple) to the list of possible outcomes, but it will not split into its component types. When Black is included in the pool along with one or more other types, the Black type can split into Blue and Purple. However, if it is split, then Black is no longer in the pool for the duration. Thus, the presence of Black in a pool will either add the Black type if it does not split or the Blue and Purple types if it does split. There is one exception to this rule, and that is when both parents possess the Black type. In this case, Black can contribute both itself and its split colors at the same time.
  • Although the Black type can split into Blue and Purple for breeding purposes, it still only counts as one type. This is important when considering the number of types for type-amount-dependent dragons such as the Diamond Dragon. Breeding a Night Dragon with a Fruitful Dragon only counts as three types: Black, Green, and Yellow.

Notes[]

  • The Night Dragon's design is based upon the Poison Dragon's, although there are differences between the two.
  • The Night Dragon is currently the 3rd non-diamond-type single type dragon that can be bred without using basic dragons. Ex: Breeding a Mist Dragon with an Familiar Dragon can result in a Night Dragon because the correct types are present.
