Leo Dragon Information

Baby Form Juvenile Form
Leo Baby Leo Juvenile
There's no record of Leo Dragons ever living on Earth until recently. Leo Dragons seemed to simply fly down from the stars above one year in late July, then flew back the next month. They're highly sought after due to their limited time in the Dragon Islands, but if you manage to hatch one, it'll stick around forever. When Leo Dragons fly down to the Dragon Isles, the constellation Leo seems to become a bit dimmer. Some stars go out of focus or can't be seen. Yet when the dragons leave the Isles, the constellation brightens again. Why? How? Your guess is as good as anyone's.
Adult Form Epic Form

Leo Dragons are occasionally mistaken for lions by humans. Naturally, lions don't fly, so humans usually either convince themselves their eyes are playing tricks on them or that they're going insane. In any case, legends and art across the world have paintings depicting lions with wings. Epic Leo Dragons have the full shape of their constellation printed and gleaming brightly across its magnificent coat. The stars on their body blaze so bright that, when flying at night, they've been known to steer ships off course who use the constellation Leo as a navigational tool.

Parents Behavior

The Leo Dragon has special behavior when it is used as a breeding parent. Unlike dragons with only basic types, it will obey the following rules:

  • When the Zodiac type is alone in the pool, it will add pure dragons of its component types (Yellow and Black) to the list of possible outcomes, but it will not split into its component types. When Zodiac is included in the pool along with one or more other types, the Zodiac type can split into Yellow and Black. However, if it is split, then Zodiac is no longer in the pool for the duration. Thus, the presence of Zodiac in a pool will either add the Zodiac type if it does not split or the Yellow and Black types if it does split. There is one exception to this rule, and that is when both parents possess the Zodiac type. In this case, Zodiac can contribute both itself and its split colors at the same time.
  • When the Zodiac type splits, any minor types within its components can also split. (True for Black).
  • Although the Zodiac type can split into Yellow and Black for breeding purposes, it still only counts as one type. This is important when considering the number of types for type-amount-dependent dragons such as the Diamond Dragon. Breeding a Leo Dragon with a Life Dragon only counts as three types: Zodiac, Green, and Red.
    • Currently, due to a bug in the coding the Zodiac's component Black type will always break down into Purple and Blue. It is unclear if this issue will be fixed.

Notes

  • The Leo Dragon's design is based upon the Familiar Dragon's, although there are differences between the two.
  • In baby to juvenile form, the Leo Dragon develops a mane.
  • Upon initial release the Leo Dragon's cost to speed up breeding and incubation was 24 gold while breeding and incubation time was only 21 hours. In addition, the evolution time was 28 hours 3 minutes while cost to speed up was 24 gold.
    • This was corrected on July 31, and all gold cost and times were changed to 21.
  • The Leo Dragon is the first minor type dragon that requires another minor type to be bred.
  • Leo is the fifth astrological sign of the zodiac, originating from the constellation of Leo.
