Atlas Dragon Information[]

Baby Form Juvenile Form
Atlas Baby Atlas Juvenile
Atlas Dragons carry the weights of tiny little worlds on their shoulders. On every Atlas Dragon is a miniature ecosystem, complete with microscopic flora and fauna. All that extra weight can be bothersome at times, but Atlas Dragons bear the burden proudly, happy to have the responsibility. Remember: if you're caring for an Atlas Dragon, you're also caring for an entire civilization! Be mindful of your wee world when you're finding a home for your Atlas Dragon. If you put your Atlas dragon near Fire Dragons, it means global warming for the Atlas Dragon. If your Atlas Dragon is near a Poison Dragon, the little world becomes polluted.

Atlas Dragons never migrate far from where they were hatched. If they did, the ecosystems on their heads would change drastically. For example, if Atlas Dragons fly too high, the worlds on their heads freeze over, causing snowstorms on a global scale. Amazingly, the global growths on Atlas Dragons' heads bear a remarkable resemblance to Earth. This has led some philosophers to believe that these Dragons carry exact replicas of Earth, right down to the people and dragons,on their shoulders, seemingly creating tiny dimensions! Perhaps even this Earth exists on the back of a colossal Atlas Dragon! But that couldn't be true... could it?

Parents Behavior[]

The Atlas Dragon has special behavior when it is used as a breeding parent. Unlike dragons with only basic types, it will obey the following rules:

  • Although the Mythic type is made up of Red and Yellow, the presence of these types may not necessarily allow you to breed the Atlas Dragon. Check the Availability section above to find out the unique conditions under which this dragon might be bred.
  • When the Mythic type is alone in the pool, it will add pure dragons of its component types (Red and Yellow) to the list of possible outcomes, but it will not split into its component types. When Mythic is included in the pool along with one or more other types, the Mythic type can split into Red and Yellow. However, if it is split, then Mythic is no longer in the pool for the duration. Thus, the presence of Mythic in a pool will either add the Mythic type if it does not split or the Red and Yellow types if it does split. There is one exception to this rule, and that is when both parents possess the Mythic type. In this case, Mythic can contribute both itself and its split colors at the same time.
  • Although the Mythic type can split into Red and Yellow for breeding purposes, it still only counts as one type. This is important when considering the number of types for type-amount-dependent dragons such as the Diamond Dragon. Breeding an Atlas Dragon with a Hypnotic Dragon only counts as three types: Mythic, White, and Purple.

Notes[]

  • The Atlas Dragon's design is based upon the Coral Dragon's, although there are differences between the two.
  • The earth the Atlas Dragon holds up goes through the same stages our own world has, evolving from Pangea into what the earth looks like today. (You can see North America, as well as parts of Africa, Europe and South America on the epic form.)
  • The Fire Dragon and the Poison Dragon are mentioned in the Juvenile form's description.
  • Atlas is a renegade titan in Greek mythology who was said to carry the whole Earth (or the whole sky) as punishment for a past misdeed.
